Poplar Stream Falls

THE TOWN OF CARRABASSETT DOES NOT CURRENTLY HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE LANDOWNERS TO ACCESS POPLAR STREAM FALLS AND IT IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.

VIST THIS PAGE FOR FURTHER UPDATES ON ACCESS TO POPLAR STREAM FALLS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT CAN BE ACCESSED VIA CARRIAGE ROAD. 

To visit this scenic waterfall, with drops of 24 & 51 feet, turn right onto Carriage Rd off Rt. 27 at the Valley Crossing in Carrabassett Valley. Continue on the Carriage Rd for approximately 2 miles, turn right at the first dirt road, bear to the left and park. This portion of the road is a bit rough, so use caution. There is a nice swimming hole at the Falls located by the road.  (please note that a portion of Carriage Rd is seasonal)


Poplar Stream Falls

Permission to use the Carriage Rd is granted on a yearly basis by the generosity of the Penobscot Indian Nation. The road is closed from (approximately) Nov. 1st to May 15th Check the home page on this website for the current status of the Carriage Road.
