The Carrabassett Valley Recreation Committee facilitates a scholarship fund that provides finance for recreational opportunities for our local Town youth's. Past funding has sent applicants to a variety of camps, sports clinics, environmental camps and other cultural programs such as gymnastics, drama, music etc.
The following criteria are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.....
Eligibility of applicant : Youth ages 4-18.
Resident Status : Children of year round resident taxpayers who have resided in Carrabassett Valley for more than one year are eligible to apply for assistance.
Need : The family of the applicant must discuss a financial need for assistance.
Allocation : Funds are allocated yearly on an individual basis- mid June.
Request : One request per child per year will be considered.
To Reapply : A new scholarship application is required every year.
Programming : The applicant must choose an activity or program that is approved by the Recreation Committee.
Confidentiality :To ensure the privacy of our scholarship applicants and his or her family, and to ensure accountability regarding the financial status, all information concerning the applicant will be administered through the Recreation Director and Committee. Name of applicants will not be released to anyone unless the request for information is from the applicant or approved parent and or guardian.
