Poplar Stream Falls: To visit these 2 scenic waterfalls, with drops of 24 & 51 feet, turn right onto Carriage Rd off Rt. 27 at the Valley Crossing in Carrabassett Valley. Continue on the Carriage Rd for approximately 2 miles, turn right at the first dirt road, bear to the left and park. This portion of the road is a bit rough, so use caution. There is a nice swimming hole at the Falls located by the road.   Poplar Stream Falls Permission to use the Carriage Rd is granted on a yearly basis by the generosity of the Penobscot Indian Nation. The road is closed from Nov. 1st to May 15th. Please call the Town Office for current status of the gate entering onto Carriage Rd.  207.235.2645
